Skeldon is a great place for your self-catering holiday in the
heart of the Ayrshire countryside. You can just relax in the
peaceful grounds or enjoy some of the activities on the estate.
We have a charming country holiday cottage in a working courtyard setting
and a superb five bedroom house dating from the nineteenth century,
both available for rent. These self catering holiday properties are in
excellent condition and furnished comfortably in a traditional
style.
Skeldon Estate is situated near the village of Dalrymple in a
woodland setting on the banks of the River Doon. The formal gardens and
glasshouses, laid out in a river meander, were established in the late
18th century with a unique collection of plants which are a delight for
the visitor.
There are extensive
grounds with walks through the countryside and along the river bank
which holiday cottage guests are welcome to explore. There is a tennis court and salmon and trout fishing on the
river can be arranged in season.
