The gardens are surrounded and sheltered by woodland, with some fine specimen trees, and interesting walks. There is an abundance of rhododendron and azaleas which are a riot of colour in the spring.
The formal garden nestles in a curve of the river, with lawns surrounded by herbaceous borders, rose beds and arbours. A magnificent greenhouse provides plants for the large beds of annuals which provide a fantastic show in late summer.
The garden has an open day in the summer – check the Scotland Gardens Scheme for dates.
